Tagaytay City—The second week of the Mission Orientation Course (Alis Bayan, Dating Bayan, Balikbayan) 2024, held from July 1 to 7, 2024, continued to build on the strong foundations laid in the previous week, with activities and sessions designed to deepen participants' understanding of their missionary roles.
The first day, July 1, 2024, focused on "Interreligious Dialogue" with the session led by Fr. Edgar G. Javier, SVD, Director for Research and Publications, followed by the session on "Interculturality" led by Fr. Albert Ziem, SVD. The day concluded with the viewing of the 2013 movie The Heart of a Murderer.
The second day, July 2, 2024, brought insights into “Missionary Churches in the Acts: Intercultural Engagement with the Nations” with Fr. Randolph Flores, SVD. In the afternoon, Fr. Severo Biton, SVD, delved into "Prophetic Dialogue," followed by the mission sharing led by Fr. Allan Bondoc, SVD (East Timor).
The third day, July 3, 2024, focused on the themes of "Mission and Inculturation" and "Spirituality of Harmony" during the sessions led by Fr. Jose Vidamor Yu, LRMS. The day ended with a group meeting, allowing participants to reflect on their learnings and share their insights.
The fourth day, July 4, 2024, began with the session led by Fr. Norman PeΓ±a, SSP, about "Intercultural Communication." In the afternoon, Fr. Javier returned to discuss "Mission and the Eucharist: Symbolic Elements," followed by another group meeting.
The fifth day, July 5, 2024, featured sessions on "The Missionary as a Migrant" by Fr. Tim Melliza, SSP, and "Mission and the Care of the Earth" by Bro. Chris Gorit, FMS. The day concluded with a general rehearsal for the last day of the
The morning of July 6, 2024, featured the recollection, providing a quiet space for personal reflection and spiritual renewal for participants. Finally, the evening was dedicated to the Cultural Night as a celebration of the diverse backgrounds and talents of the participants.
