DWIMS begins first day of special course about "Mission and the Trinity" with Fr. Stephen Bevans, SVD

Tagaytay City—Earlier today, May 6, 2024, DWIMS launched the first day of the special course, "Mission and the Trinity," facilitated by renowned theologian Fr. Stephen Bevans, SVD.

This highly anticipated course runs from May 6 to 14, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at the DWST Aula Magna.

Fr. Bevans is a world-renowned theologian and Professor Emeritus of Mission and Culture at the Catholic Theological Union (CTU) in Chicago, USA.

The event began with a warm introduction by Fr. Bevans, who encouraged attendees to get to know one another, fostering an environment of community and open dialogue.

Afterwards, he outlined the course structure, emphasizing its focus on guiding students in "faithfully, effectively, and appropriately communicating the nature of the Christian God—the God embodied, proclaimed, and witnessed to by Jesus the Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit."

During the session, Fr. Bevans provided a glimpse into the upcoming lectures and discussions, promising to delve into the aspects of “how mission and the Trinity work together.”

This "Mission and the Trinity" course marks a significant milestone in DWIMS' mission to foster spiritual and academic growth. Attendees can look forward to a transformative journey as they gain insights from Fr. Bevans and explore the profound connection between mission and the Trinity.
